Document numbers create an audit trail. If quotation QTN-0042 becomes sales order SO-0018, then delivery note DN-0009, then invoice INV-0060, your team can reconstruct the transaction from promise to delivery to payment. Without a sequence, finance and operations waste time matching documents by customer name or amount.

Invoice and eTIMS Considerations

Invoices need more care than internal documents because tax treatment matters. VAT-registered businesses should clearly show VAT, seller details, buyer details where required, and invoice totals.
